About Me
Meet Your Mount Ijen Guide
Edy Mickey – Local Guide from East Java
12 Years of Experience
Born and raised in the Mount Ijen region, I am a local guide from Banyuwangi, East Java, with over 12 years of professional experience guiding travelers through volcanoes, mountains, and cultural sites across Indonesia.
Who Am I?
I work as a trekking and local tour guide in the Mount Ijen area and throughout East Java. Guiding has been my full-time profession from the very beginning, and the mountains have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My Roots
I was born and raised in Banyuwangi, and my family has lived in this region for generations. Before becoming a guide, I worked in the sulfur mines inside the Ijen volcano crater — just like my father before me. The volcano has always been part of my life and my story.
My Journey as a Guide
Since childhood, I have explored the mountains and trails of East Java, especially Mount Ijen and Mount Bromo. Over the years, I have guided thousands of travelers from all around the world.
